Course Overview

This introductory course is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in filmmaking principles and 3D animation techniques. Through a combination of lectures, practical assignments, and hands-on workshops, students will learn essential concepts and techniques to create visually stunning and engaging animations. By the end of this course, students will have a solid understanding of the 3D animation pipeline and be well-prepared to pursue further studies or career opportunities in the field.

After completing the Introduction to 3D Animation for Media and Entertainment course, students will gain the following learning outcomes and potential job prospects.

Learning Outcomes: 

  • A strong foundation in 3D animation techniques and principles for media and entertainment projects. 

  • Proficiency in various aspects of the 3D animation pipeline, including modeling, texturing, rigging, layout and pre-visualization, animation, lighting-rendering and editing.

  • Experience using industry-standard 3D animation software.

  • An understanding of character design, character animation, and creating compelling performances. 

  • Knowledge of visual effects, particle systems, and simulations in 3D animation.

  • Experience in post-production processes, including video editing, color grading, and sound design. 

  • A portfolio showcasing their skills in 3D animation, including a short 3D animation created during the course.
